THE LIST
Films We Can't Wait To See In 2008
By Jason Terry-Robinson

Every year audiences hope for bigger, better, more exciting movies and that’s exactly what 2008 has in store for us. More action, more suspense, more comedy, less remakes and sequels that don’t live up to its predecessor with films like Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Wanted and The Dark Knight. These are just a few of the films we're amped to see and we are sure you will love these films this year.

Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!: March 14 2008
Dr. Seuss brings another one of his children books to life as an elephant named Horton (Jim Carrey) hears a cry of help from a speak of dust and goes above and beyond to save whoever is in need of help. A great family movie that will be funny along with supply a moral for the children (and maybe the adults as well).

Prom Night: April 11th 2008
Prom Night, like most nights is a special moment in a teenagers life or that’s what Donna (Brittany Snow) thought when she (among the rest of her friends) are being attacked by a serial killer while staying in their hotel rooms. This remake of the 1970’s Prom Night starring Jamie Lee-Curtis, modernizes and brings back the corny teen horror flicks that we have come to love to hate.

Baby Mama: April 25th 2008
Saturday Night Lives’ Tina Fey and Amy Poehler team again to bring a movie that will have you dying in laughter. Kate (Tina Fey) who has it all is unable to conceive a child and must rely on a hired surrogate mother (Amy Poehler) to help in her endeavors. Given her past hilarious film Mean Girls, Baby Mama is sure to entertain and remind us why we freaking love Tina Fey!

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay: April 25th 2008
Stoners Harold & Kumar are back again in a sequel to Harold & Kumar Goes to White Castle as they are suspected as terrorists and sent to Guantanamo Bay where many plots to escape and adventures arise. This film, like the first, is sure to keep us laughing, stoned or not.

Iron Man: May 2nd 2008
Marvel Comics brings another hit to the screen as Robert Downey Jr. portrays scientist Tony Stark, who after being captured in a hostile situation builds a suit of armor to become hero Iron Man. Comic book fans will love how this film has stayed true to the comic.

Speed Racer: May 9th 2008
Finally a cartoon with action, adventure and most importantly speed. Speed Racer is headed to the big screen. Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) teams up with girlfriend Trixie (Christina Ricci) and Racer X (Matthew Fox) as they attempt to win a cross-country rally. Fun for everyone that has grew up enjoying this cartoon.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army: July 11th 2008
Hellboy was an amazing film. One of the the few comic book film adaptations that stayed true to it's source material and still was an enjoyable movie. The sequel should be just as enteratining.

The Dark Knight: July 18th 2008
Batman returns (yet again) in a more modern version, where Gotham City is in trouble and Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) suits up as the cape crusader to defend the city from The Joker (The late, Heath Ledger) and Two Face (Aaron Eckhart). Will this film turn out to be just another remake of Batman, Batman Returns or Batman Forever? Who knows?

Wanted: June 27th 2008
Based off of Mark Miller’s hit comic book series, an average everyday guy, Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) discovers that he has the potential to be a hero by obtaining superpowers. He then teams up with fellow assassins to save the world only to learn that his fellow members are evildoers themselves. Wesley will now have to search deep within to find a hero that will ultimately save the world that is in constant danger.

Funny Games: March 14th 2008
This remake of the Austrailian thriller of the same name starring Naomi Watts looks sick, to say the least. The film is about a family being tortured by psycopathic next door neighbors who look stirkingly similar to Macaulay Culkin. The two run the family through a sick game of staying alive and not staying alive, a bet. The film looks interesting.
