RED, RED, RED
Letter From The Editor

“I don't understand about complementary colors
And what they say
Side by side they both get bright
Together they both get gray”

From “Red, Red, Red” by Fiona Apple

What’s your favorite color? Before you roll your eyes and think ‘who really asks that question’ besides Kindergarten teachers, teens trying to get into the pants of a lover and lames (with the exception of little ol’ me), just think about it. It’s a valid question that’s rarely posed but the answer can reveal a lot about a person's character. I mean, people are more relaxed in green rooms so naturally a green loving person would be more tranquil. Weightlifters do their best in blue gyms. And so on and so forth. So color must have a great deal to do with feeling, because color is feeling.

My favorite color is red.  It’s intense, striking, and strong, it’s passion, it’s me. Naming our second issue The Colors Issue started out as a joke, but became more serious the more we worked on it. The title fits fully because we’ve interviewed the most colorful people in fashion, music, film, literature and art and design.

We talk colors with Sia. Get serious with funny man Mike Epps. We've snagged interviews with Christina Ricci, Steve Zahn, Fahamu Pecou, Linda Zacks, SBTG, Reka One, we explore Beamvertising, the strange genre of Wizard Rock and so much more. We also took note of your critiques of the magazine and added a daily news blog to keep you up to date with the latest in art, design, literature, film, music, fashion and us. Dig into this issue and enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Remember, art is everywhere so Art Nouveau Magazine is everywhere. Email me at kdaye@artnouveaumagazine.com about anything, I like talking about art.

Best,
